Packing my Life Away

Lately I have been trying to get everything planned for my trip to Italy but it's been difficult trying to get all the necessary paper work and visa application done. Who ever knew that there was so much work to try and study abroad. I'll start by introducing my self.

My name is Hannah Swick and I am a Student, Photographer, Business major and much more. I have decided to study abroad in Trieste, Italy through MCB to learn a little more about myself as a business student and as a photographer. I am currently attending the University of Northern Colorado where am Majoring in Visual Communications with an emphasis in Photographic Imaging, Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing,  and I am also a Global Studies Minor at the Monfort College of Business. My passion falls between two areas of study and both have led me traveling.

This blog's purpose is for not only for my class BA-415, but also to allow friends, families and other students travel with me on my journey to a new place where exciting things will happen. So what do you think is going on with me right now? Well...

I am...

Taking Summer Classes
Working
Dancing
Swimming
Painting
Photographing
Packing
Planning
Dreaming
Researching
AND
Blogging (or starting to)

Last night I had the urge to try and figure out what I should bring with me. A few other students and I have decided to travel a few places before school starts in late September which means that we will be carrying everything on our backs walking across Europe. And with me being a photographer, I have to hall my camera and everything that goes with that, including my laptop. So I went through my closest and starting pulling out outfits that I think look nice, yet are comfortable. I was initially thinking that Ireland and the UK were going to be nice end-of-summer weather, but until I looked up the average temperatures, I realized that it rains pretty much everyday there and I will be spending 6 of my 10 days before Italy there. So I'm packing for fall and leaving the shorts behind. My goal for tomorrow is to see if I can fit it all into one backpack.

It still hasn't kicked in that I will be living in a foreign country for a semester and i won't be returning to Greeley, Colorado until January where I have lived for 19 years of my life. It seems unreal but I'm not feeling scared or worried, I am excited to step into the world and see where it takes me.

Ciao!
